Salted Romas

Growing up, my family used tomatoes marinated in soy sauce as a side dish to when we ate spamsilog, a common filipino breakfast. “Silog” (see-log) in Tagalog means ‘garlic fried rice’, thus our spam was served with garlic fried rice, a side of egg, with the marinated tomatoes. The salty acidic soy sauce marinated tomatoes are a great way to cut the heaviness of the rice and spam.

Freeze drying soy sauce marinated tomatoes and eating them as a snack is so nostalgic and I found this product to be extremely addicting with its burst of umami flavors.
